Does Winning The Lottery Make You Happy?
Why do you want to win the lottery? Most people dream about buying a nice house, a nice car, the latest technology, and traveling the world. Some people will tell you that having these things won’t make you happy and, so, winning the lottery won’t make you happy. That’s debatable.
But what’s not debatable is this – Working 9-5 and being a slave to your boss definitely does not make you happy. Consider this – When you wake up each and every Monday morning to start your work week, do you get excited about going to work? I’m sure the answer is no. But would you get excited about going back to sleep, or visiting friends, or hanging out with family, or going shopping, or playing a round or golf, or going on an impromptu road trip or vacation, or working on a hobby?
What would you rather do – Go to work for the man or do whatever you want to do? Of course, doing whatever you want to do sounds more appealing, wouldn’t you say? KBC Lucky Draw
That’s what winning the lottery does – It allows you to do whatever you want to do, whenever you want to do it. It’s called freedom. And, freedom equals happiness. Freedom is not free. You need to have money to achieve freedom. Without money, you have to work. And, we all know that you don’t have that freedom if you have to work, right?
Does spending time with your friends and family make you happy? You can spend more time with them if you win the lottery. Working for the man means less time for friends and family.
Does traveling make you happy? You can do more traveling if you win the lottery. Working for the man means less time for traveling.
Does hanging out with your friends make you happy? You can have more time to spend with your friends if you win the lottery. Working for the man means less time for friends.
You get my drift, right? Winning the lottery will make you happy. But it’s not the actual money that makes you happy; it’s the intrinsic things that you get from having a lot of money. There should be no debate about that.
So, the next time you buy a lotto ticket, just know that you’re buying a chance at happiness. I’m not saying that your life, as it is, doesn’t make you happy, just that winning the lottery can make you happier!
